General Info

  • Final exam on Monday, December 12th @ 7pm-10pm in SRYC 2600 (Building attached to mall!)
  • Likely designed for 2 hours, but you'll have 3 hours to write.
  • May not be able to write exam if later than 60 minutes.
  • If sick or unable to attend exam, instructor may require proof of illness.

Material

  • Course material summary
    • No sample final exam is available.
  • Lectures: All material covered in lecture; cumulative for whole course.
  • Assignments 1-3
  • Project: knowledge and experience of working in a group, with GitLab, on an Android project. You are not responsible for knowing how to implement all parts of the project.
  • Textbook material not covered in lecture is not testable

More emphasis likely placed on material after the midterm.

Possible Question Types

  • Multiple choice. Warning: These tend to be challenging questions!
  • Short answer.
  • Understand, explain, and apply software engineering ideas.
  • Understand Android concepts, read or write some Android code (see course material summary).
  • Exam is written on paper: no computers.

Resources in Exam

  • No aids permitted, such as: calculators, textbooks, dictionaries, cell-phones, smart-watches, pocket-gnome, poll-the-audience, or ask-a-friend.
  • I will be happy to explain non-technical terms.

Exam Directions

  • Find a seat with an exam.
    • Do not sit near your friends or study-mates: they think like you do!
    • If you like to look around, then sit at the front.
  • Take out:
    • Your Student ID
    • Writing tools: pens, pencils, eraser, whiteout...
    • Water bottle, cookies...
  • Put everything else at the front of the room.
    • Cell phones and smart-watches off and at front. Not for checking time.
  • Fill out the front of the exam.
  • Any academic dishonesty may lead to a grade of 0 for the entire exam.
    • Touching a cell phone / smart-watch during the exam will be considered academic dishonesty.
  • Communicate only with a TA or the instructor.
    • Do not look around room at other students.
    • When thinking, look up, not around the room.
  • Cover your paper as much as reasonably possible.

Extra Instructor Office Hours

  • Thursday, Dec 8th 9:30am-11:30am (Online only; not on campus).
  • Friday, Dec 9th 11:30am-1:30pm (In-person or online only).
  • Regular MWF office hours not held after final day of class.

Final Exam Viewing

  • Wednesday Dec 14th 10:30am-2:30pm (Dr. Brian's office, in person)
  • I'm happy to discuss marking and correct marking errors. Negotiating/insisting on more marks will lead to a remark of entire exam. Grade may go up or down!
